Default Fleet Map ??? UPMan

I just got the Uniden BCD396T and have been reading as much as possible, yep newbie here. Was reading post on http://www.radioreference.com/forums...ad.php?t=27346 and it talks about putting lansing BWL into a 396T.

A reply from UPMan said that the person would not have to "enter a fleet map". What is a fleet map ? How are they used ? Is it just for digital systems ? Any advice is appreciated.

In simple terms, fleet maps are a way that you have have to program in some Motorola Type I trunked radio systems. These are becoming outdated, though, and unless you have to enter a system that does require a fleet map, I don't know that I would worry about it all that much.

There are others on here that can give you a much more technical explination of fleet maps, should you desire.

Fleet maps can be studied in RR Wiki
