Smile Lapeer County

Hello there, I'm kinda new to the hobby. Can anyone tell me if in lapeer county (just norht od Almont by 3 miles), Do the state police work off the lapeer system or what? I have the state police programed in on one bank and Lapeer on another. I never here anything on the state system. Maybe I did something wrong.

MSP cars in Lapeer County are on the Lapeer system as I beleve 38-xx, they have the capability of talking to MSP dispatch on the state system, and they also sign on and off w/ msp dispatch and w/ lapeer county dispatch

You should hear alot of traffic on the MPSCS system. Make sure you can get the Control Channels for the towers you have programed in. If you put multiple towers in the same bank, you have to put a conventional freq betwen each tower's CC.

Can the conventional freq be anything. Like something in the 30 Mhz range? I chose 30 Mhz, just so there would be no chatter on that freq. Or any other suggestions? BTW do I need to put in the alt cc's?

Put in the ITAC/ICALL conv freq's. Good idea to add the alt's with no conv in between.

Nice Township. Not to far from where your Sgt was shot at on M-24 a few years ago by that sniper. I was riding with a buddy of mine with MSP at the 38 when we had to shut down M-24 for hours.

I must say your county has a lot better dispatchers then ours does in St. Clair. We have a few good ones but for most part it's a joke.

I'll never forget what that car looked like after that shooting. I think there were 2 rounds that passed right near the driver's headrest and through the windshield, cage, and into the backseat!

One passed through the radar unit then into the head rest.

ONe through the headlight into the radiator

The last one passed through the side window, cage, hit the passanger head rest..

Scarry situation. EST arrived and gassed him out. We escourted a APC from the National Guard station in Flint to the scene. Nothing like a 60 mount on top of a APC to make the good citizens of Lapeer County to go WTF?

I was on the news directing traffic while we were there.
