Only goodies so far is tightened seurity rules. Heard one post that didn't answer for a check and the broadcast said no land line check allowed with the post until status was verified in person and CHALLANGED if necessary.
Sounded serious.

Our Prez was in Chicago area today. Base units may have had some involvement.

I know I've asked this question a million times but what frequencies do the C-130s operate on? I monitor 259.300 287.500 290.900 388.200 and 391.900 they are always quiet. Just today they flew over the house and heard nothing on those freqs, so I assume they're incorrect freqs.

Try:

383.3000 MHz AM

Also, if you have shortwave, possibly:

7.772 MHz USB
7.919 MHz USB
13.110 MHz USB

Let us know if you're successful. I dug those up tonight, but personally have not tried them. The info is rather old.

Thanks!

We should have some good milcom listening tomorrow afternoon. According to the FAA every MOA in the state is booked for use. This is the first time I've seen all of them booked liked that, there must be some big practice comming up.

I'm new to this forum and I live roughly 6-7 miles northwest of Selfridge (21 Mile, half mile east of Romeo Plank). Most of the time I hear the C-130s on either 119.6 (Approach and departure) or 120.15 (tower). Anyone out there know what frequencies the F-16 pilots use to talk to each other and the tankers on? I sat in the Wal-Mart parking lot this morning (1/27) for a while and all I saw was a Cessna Citation come in, a Coast Guard helo depart and a KC-135R depart. I was hoping to see some F-16s depart, but no such luck.

If you want freqs for Selfridge, I just direct people to my WIKI page below. It should have everything you need.

Ok. I have most of the feqs. I was just curious about the freqs the F-16s use to talk to the tankers and other F-16s. I wonder if these are encrypted.

When Selfridge Departure Control hands off the F-16s to Cleveland Center, they say, "Contact Cleveland Center, local channel 7". Is this frequency pre-programmed into the F-16s radio? Why are some frequencies like that and others have to be dialed in?
