Wide now, should go narrow when fully operational.

Area Depts (fire-EMS) have not been issued any radios or have been scheduled for any type of training yet on the new equip.

I suspect that this system probably won't be fully online until early or late spring at the earliest.

While I don't doubt this to be the case, it's odd to me that they are doing that during the setup phase. Why would they want to set up the system using wide mode, and then switch to narrow mode later? I would think they would want to know as new sites come on line how the actual mode would work...
Ah well, just posting as a curiosity about why it would be set up that way...

I don't know either... I'd hazard a guess and say it has something to do with not being able to use all freq's yet (since the agencies still use them conventionally) but that's just a wild toss.

I am an L.P.D.Volunteer,I am in and out of the north precinct almost everyday, and they have not been issued any radios yet,and none of the command officers,or supervisors that I have talked to have any idea when they will get the new radios.

Lansing is going to be the absolute last to go online.
