Looking forward to one day being able to afford a digital scanner as I'd like to once again be able to hear MMR (ambulance).

I am really enjoying RR - just found it. I am able to listen to traffic in CT where one of my kids recently moved - that is amazing to me! Thanks to all who make this available!

I miss mmr in gratiot co to.... I provide the clinton and gratiot co fire ems feed but I need to upgrade someday to digital but I have no experience in it and have to start from scratch.

I should have done this long ago.

I live in Cannon Township and provide the "Kent County North Sheriff and Fire" feed from my home with my old Amateur radio that I no longer have in service. I also run TwoToneDetect on the feed and can send out pages if anyone is interested.

I have bitten the bullet on a PSR-800 so I can get digital reception for personal use and it should be here tomorrow. I look forward to sharing what I find here in West Michigan.

Currently listening to a cloned BCD 396T. Trying to learn how to program it myself.

Had BC 220 XLT that served me for many years.

I programmed the new SCS talk groups into my 396, yes I am using the Macomb County Simulcast frequencies but I am not hearing anything. The data was taken right off of the RR data base. Any suggestions ?

Default Michigan Roll Call

Hi I live at the county line for Bay/ Arenac near the Saginaw Bay,
using a 396x I monitor:
conventional county: Bay, Arenac, Gladwin, and Ogemaw

With MPSCS I catch some but not all of stuff from:
Fort Grayling to Flint/Holly
Mt Pleasant to Sanilac
but I don't get Bay City PD or Bay City Fire because the site isn't strong enough
On occasion I'm even catching some of District 2, 6, 7 and county dispatch for
Soo Locks and Marquette.

Some day I plan on getting a external antenna until then I use a $20 antenna from RS

Saginaw Michigan here. I just listen to the Michigan Public safety Communications system. I get a 50 mile radius on my HP-1. I can hear reports from Cass City, Lapeer, Mt Pleasant, Midland, Bay City, Harrison, Gladwin, Flint and of course- Saginaw county. Its rare to get 2 - 3 minutes of silence on the HP-1. I think there is a population of around 1 million people in my 50 square mile area.

Considering the age of this thread, we should update our info. A number of agencies have moved to new systems, and there are new radios.

So what has changed in your monitoring, in the past 7+ years?

31 years in the same job, doing whatever it is I do.....

Not much has changed here. Santa didn't bring me the new scanner OR the new ham handheld I asked for - I'm beginning to lose faith in that guy! My wife has hinted, however, that she may be open to the idea of a new radio of some type after January 1. So I am doing my best to stay in her good graces. We'll see what happens. My PRO-92 is on "permanent loan" to my son so he can monitor the fire frequencies; he has taken his First Responder class & is studying to become a firefighter. (I'm training the next generation!)

Keeping my fingers crossed, hoping to retire sometime next year.
Scanning since '74; Dispatching since '83.
