I think any of the locations others refer you too will either have scheduled days, and times, or by appointment. I don't think you can literally walk in somewhere and take it. Do a Google search, I think there are some web sites, or downloads that allow you to test yourself on a trial basis, if you're just curious what it's like, or how well you might do.

USECA = Utica Shelby Emergency Communication Association

"USECA VE testing sessions occur on the first Thursday of the month from September through June at the Elks Lodge at 179 S. Main in Mount Clemens. Come get your original amateur radio license, or upgrade your ticket"

Read more details about testing sessions and the club HERE

Go for it!

(you too Bill)

You can do it.

Just 'study-up' by taking the practice test at: http://www.qrz.com/p/testing.pl

Steve,
Thanks for the tip. I've been thinking about doing since I was in high school. This afternoon I passed the practice tests 7 out of 10 times. I'm gonna follow through this time.
