Man Approached Child Near Bus Stop

A young boy who was waiting for the school bus to arrive Monday morning in Chesterfield Township was nearly a victim of an attempted abduction.

The 6-year-old was waiting for the bus when a man pulled up and offered him a ride to school, according to police.

The boy ran off and the man drove away.

The man is described as an older white male who appeared to be going bald. He was wearing a dark gray pullover sweatshirt. The vehicle he was driving is described as a light blue minivan, possibly a 1980s Aerostar with a black trim, according to police.

Turns out it was a neighbor of the boy and saw him crying at the bus stop and stoped and offered him a ride to school.
