i'm seeing Shelby Twp and Chesterfield showing up on site 701. (detroit)

2 questions:

1. Will threse macomb county users end up on the Mount Clemens tower, once it's up and running. What is the delay with the MC tower anyway, why don't Romeo and new Haven show up on 701?

2. Any ideas on which cities will be joining mpscs anytime soon.

I think these are the current users within 30 miles of detroit,

1. . The Mt Clemens tower(210) has been up for quite a while. I believe you're talking about the Macomb simulcast(299). Last I heard the contractor is 6 months ahead of sked. The Macomb simulcast is 9 sites.
Livonia is still on their own EDACS system.

As I understand it, look for the following counties to join the MPSCS at some point in the future, provided they can secure the necessary funding:

• Wayne County Sheriff and other public safety agencies in the western part of the county.
• St. Clair County, includes all local communities.
• Port Huron, reportedly under construction.
• Saginaw County, including Saginaw City.
• Lapeer County.
• Jackson County.
• Huron County.
• Calhoun County, they had a millage proposal on the ballot last year that was completely voted down. I understand they are seeking alternative ways to fund their simulcast system.
• Shiawassee County, currently looking at how to fund the switchover for all agencies.
• Washtenaw County, including the city of Ann Arbor. They have a millage proposal on the ballot this May 2, allowing them to go forward with the purchase of new radio equipment. Hopefully, everyone will vote YES on this proposal!

Thanks for the info, now, why would, do you suppose, Shelby and Chesterfield are going thru 701 and not hanging out on just 210. I realize that users can opt onto distant towers when needed but these two seem to be on detroit all the time, as a matter of course, why.

Any ideas who goes thru 210?

Tower 701 is open to any MPSCS agency (Not just Detroit). If one of the radios being used by Shelby Twp or Chesterfield determines it has a better signal there, it will affiliate with that site and use it. In my monitoring of 701, I've seen quite a few affiliations from those two on that site.

Their probably either picking up or droping off bad guys when on 701. Shelby will go between Romeo tower and Mt. Clemens tower because of where it's at, also Chesterfield goes between Richmond and Mt. Clemens tower, because of it's location. In the last two days some of the TG's I've loged on 210 are 8155,2007,2009,2033,1109,2038,2036,2147,2059 and 1136. Haven't heard USCG CIS or US BP for a couple of days.
