Major event for Houghton County
I came home in the middle of something going on in Houghton Co. The MSP have dogs and I believe emergency services team or teams on foot just a couple of miles NW of Houghton. Searching for a subject on foot with a shotgun. I don't know what led up to this. 12:30EST PM

It may have originated in the city of Houghton because they have officers on scene. Also DNR Air 1 is flying the area. Some EST members whispering on radio as they clear out-buildings and hiding spots. 12:55est

Apparently it was a foiled armed robbery, the guy got scared off and took off running - still not in custody

Thanks for that info.
They have called for more EST members as of 13:00EST
The guy is in a remote area of about 6 square miles bounded by roads on all 4 sides. They just added another H-event tg 1034.

He's in Stanton Twp. within the road boundries of Liminga Road on the north, South Superior Rd on the west, Coles Creek Road on the south and Canal road on the east.

Suspect caught at 16:24EST. I guess that should be 16:24EDT
DNR Air 1 directed troopers into subject after he started running again. Through fields (aka tag alder) and woods. There are no real farm fields in this area so any opening is a field. Subject was down to no shirt and blue jeans.
Apprehension made with no injuries and no shots fired. Another job well done ..........
The last one of these was in the 90's I think.

Hoofy,
I was on my way from Ishpeming to Munising this morning when this whole thing started. I get Houghton County off the Negaunee tower. They were responding to a 911 call on a cell phone from the home that had been entered by the "gunman". It was far more exciting than the typical stuff we hear up here. After I got about 1/2 way between Marquette and Munising, I was getting out of range of the Negaunee tower and I was tempted to stop and listen. Good thing I didn't because, as you know, it went on all day. I didn't really know the outcome until I got back home to Ishpeming. As I got back within range of the Negaunee tower I heard them saying they were all meeting at the Stanton Township Hall for a debriefing............the word "debriefing" told me that the event was over. Sounds like all involved did a good job.

Wow, sounds like its been fairly active up there recently with this and that pursuit you told us about recently. Of course when I'm not there all the interesting stuff happens. Never heard anything like that when i was up there, hear it down here a few times a week. Never gets old though. State Patrol has two helicopters here they use for supporting things like that here. Trooper7 and Trooper9. Thats probally more than you wanted to know. That would be a good area for hiding though. Not much population and a lot of place to hide.

It turns out the guy they chased last week was the same guy they were after in the manhunt for.
