Heard them testing in hospitals today - I posted this on the Ingham_EDACS mailing list a few days ago but the county approved about 1/3 million additional to the contract for one-way and two-way repeaters to be installed on buildings that need additional coverage like the jail...

http://radioweather.us/mailman/listi...adioweather.us

It's there to facilitate a little more behind-the-scenes stuff about the coming system, I posted the entire talkgroup listing / conventional freq programming / etc a few weeks ago and we have several techs for the system there who don't want to post onto such a prominent forum here. The archives contain the programming template for some of the radios.

Thoguht you guys would get a laugh out of this one. My father got a pro96 for x-mas this last year. he has a close "friend" in the Lansing police department. well that friend laughed at him and told him he had wasted his money because LPD was"going to a scrambled 900mhz system in a couple of weeks and we wouldn't be able to hear them". obviously LPD hasn't told their people what is going on! LOL!! I had to reassure my dad that he will still be able to hear LPD but I will be able to do so once they switch systems and he can still hear them. I just found it funny is all.

Isn't the new EDACS system going to be narrowband? If so, you will not be able to hear it on a Pro-96, but will be able to hear it on new Unidens.

Correct, the RS/GRE line will not work once it's operational.
