Yes, Warren converted their system to APCO-25 digital not too long ago. Click here for freqs & TG's.

It works great too! I'm thirteen miles North of them, and they come in loud & clear on a stock antenna.

Warren converted their Mot II system to a P25 system on 11-30-2005. It has some special features that are only done on the CC.

Default Special features?

What special features are they using? Besides the one that lets them have more range than MPSCS (seems like that to me anyways).

One I know about is that there is no tones for the FD, the HEARTSMART is done over the CC. Warren is set up to cover an area from 8 Mile to 14 Mile and Deqindre to Hayes. So it is covering about the same area as one MPSCS (non simulcast) tower. Also Dispatch has Ruthless Preempt.

It has two uses that I know of. If all channels are busy Dispatch can override the channel grants of lower priority traffic, also if a mike is stuck it can override the grant for that radio and tell that person to check their mike.

Default cool

Sweet. I get most of that but what is the heartsmart? You meant like an AED or defib? (I'm an EMT). It does get good range, I've heard ops units way down in Detroit and their radios seemed to work well for them.

Heartsmart is the type of alarm system in the fire station. It starts out with low level and then rises slowley. So as not to cause any of the FD to have a Heart Atack from the sudden sound of the alarm, hence the name "HEARTSMART". I believe it is actually a product name.

I wish someone would design a HeartSmart alarm clock!

Good lord are the medics in warren that old I can sleep very nicely and the tones wake me up just fine. kind of in a "oh I think we might have a run" way. Anyways, Macomb; I have an alarm clock that slowy raises the light and sound level, works just fine from ~10 min before i MUST get up. Got that out of the sharper image catalog. That and my cell phone with the "WHOOP WHOOP dive dive!" ringtone on my cell phone

Most likely a very low usage TG, but it's in the group with City and Public works. What did you hear on it.

Be careful if it sounds like Radio Repair, their radios can acess any TG on the system. Macomb Radio Repair has 4 radios they can use on the Warren system for testing.
