Default County Codes

I have two lists of Michigan Counties with numbers, but the two lists are sorted differently. One sorts St, as in St Clair, as Saint and the other sorts St as st . This gives two different numers For St. Clair and St. Joseph. One has St. Clair as 74 and the other has it as 77. Does anyone know which of these two lists MPS uses for county numbers. The two lists are:

I've believe St. Clair is 74. First list looks like the one you want.

The first one is the one used for the MPSCS database here the second is fron the State of Michigan's web site. What I'm asking is if anyone knows what MSP uses.

I found it in the MPSCS printout. Under system talkgroups. Also the county cars use the prefix 75.

I'm looking for someone who has access to the county codes MSP uses in their reports. If your using the MPSCS codes from the database here, that is what I'm questioning. Ron gave me the "ask.com" list and I got the other one from the State of Michigan's site. The intersting question is ST sorted as ST or as SAINT. That is the only difference.

MSP uses 74 for all forms for tickets, reports and accidents. 77 used to be our number but it got switched about 3 years ago..

So if you want to know what MSP uses for a county number for my home county it is 74

I got the info from rr data. It would seem that the MPSCS codes would have to be the same that MSP uses or their would be a lot of confusion. But that doesn't answer your question.

It sounds like someone used ST as SAINT and resorted the data and reasigned the five counties. I wanted to know since the information I have is that the second two digits of the radio ID is it's home county. ie Macomb=250... then St. Clair=274...

For crime reporting in MICR and for ORI assignments in LEIN the state is using 74 for St. Clair County.

Thanks for the help. Right after I posted the question here, I got a suggestion to ask MSP the question. I did and they responded that St. Clair Co. is 74. The origional reason for the question was I was seing a few 274... radios on the Macomb towers and Sanilac didn't seem correct. I was using Mike's breakdown for the radio ID's where the second two digits are the county.

All Sheriff cars the county number is on the left of the star then the car number is on the right side.

IE 74*249 County 74 Car 249
