Default E-mail emergency alerts in Warren

Warren

E-mail emergency alerts now available

City officials announced a pilot program Wednesday in which residents can sign up to receive emergency public safety alerts -- such as for missing children or fugitives -- through e-mail. If there is enough interest, alerts will be sent via cell phone messages, city spokesman Joe Munem said. City Councilwoman Mindy Moore proposed the program, which allows residents to subscribe at the city's Web site, www.cityofwarren.org. The alerts, which may include e-mailed pictures, will be issued by the city's police or fire departments.
