I'm glad tax dollars were spent building the "shelters" for the A-10s. Last time I checked, you can't park a KC-135 under one of those. What a waste of tax dollars!

Those shelters can be disassembled and moved to another base. They're not very expensive to begin with...which is why they were put up instead of hangars.

They will be using 4 more refuel AC & more drones ?
those are like the predator drone? What would they need those here for?
I assume the surrounding bases would still have our moa's active as far as monitoring goes ?

Selfridge will be getting 4 more KC-135's to replace the A-10's. The drones will not actually be based at Selfridge or Battle Creek, but they will be piloted from those two locations. The drones can be packed up, loaded on a cargo plane, & transported anywhere in the world to be flown in the combat theater. The only place they are being used in the U.S. (that I have heard) is along the border with Mexico - Border Patrol has several (unarmed) Predators for border surveillance, especially at night.

When the squadrons/wings are "stood up" at Battle Creek & Selfridge, I wouldn't be surprised if they brought in a Predator for the media to look at; but that will probably be the only time you will see them here; and it probably will be transported in, rather than flown.

As far as the MOA's go, lots of aircraft from other bases use those, so they will probably remain.

There has been no timetable set for any of this. The base closure process is usually a long, drawn out affair, with much wailing & grinding of teeth (pardon the Biblical reference). The federal governement only has a couple of speeds, & ain't neither one of 'em "FAST".
Also remember that the federal government inspired the phrase "Close enough for government work", which means; "Measured with a micrometer, marked with chalk, & cut with an ax."

Yalta 32 reporting hydraulic fluid low light, demon 11 - 273.0 reporting seeing orange liquid on observation, heading back home
All the well known freqs, I did here them refer to demon 11 as mid channel and mentioned about switch to 'their mid channel' didnt catch that one..

"recommend keep speed brake in the retract position"
"not declare an emergency" "but will declare one with selfridge"
"the stain doesnt look any bigger, but while trailing your aircraft I definitely see fluid leaking"
"reporting now no hydraulic pressure" "will have trouble slowing down upon landing"
