Michigan Military Activity
I would like to make this a sticky so we can log the routine military activity in our airspace.

Good thread :-)
Today two A-10's (looked like CT ANG to me- theyve been here before, so it makes sense) took off at about 17:20- very cool!!!
If anyone caught this on the scanner, please let me know the callsigns! thanks!

Today at 5:15pm I heard Auto 72 land at SANG and then at 7:40pm I heard Yalta 32 say he was "Code 2". Anyone know what that means?

As far as I know, there are 3 maintenance codes:
Code 1- a/c in good shape
Code 2- a/c needs maintenance
Code 3- a/c has major problems (also may mean its in operable)

I heard what sounded like at least 4 F-16s T/O around 14:00 today.
Also, a USMC UC-35 (taildcode "VM") came in around Noon to drop off a VIP- did anyone catch the callsign? Tmrw will probably see more aircraft like this in the early morning and late afternoon.

Did anyone hear any B-2 bomber traffic Saturday near Ann Arbor? I saw one banking low (less than 5,000 ft) around noon north of Chelsea...

OK, other than the 108-137 range being in of course, AM; are ALL of the rest of the freqs here and on the Wiki in AM Mode?
On saturday near MBS airport I heard on 139.625 I asume were F16's, not seen tho. They fly in-out of MBS to fuel up and occasionally I hear and see em fly over my house at about 1000 feet.
Also this weekend btw, at James Clements Airport on river road (M-13) near Bay City is the Bay City Airfest - http://www.baycityairshow.com/JamesClementsFrame.htm
Will feature F16 action. Last time they had this, a P51 and the F16 flew in formation at the end and honestly flew about 200 feet DIRECTLY overhead my dad and I's head in his backyard. WOW! Goose bumps!

Heard an EAM on 311.0 today at 1:35pm in the houghton area. this is the second that I've heard in the last month. This one identified its self as Essential. The last one was Tranquil. Does anyone know where these are being transmitted from?

I have 311.00 listed as STRATCOM for AWAC use.

Well it was a male voice reading a grouping of letters phonetically. This has been described in other posts as an EAM. So I'm just wondering where they're transmitting them from that i would hear them in houghton.

Wednesday I saw a single 172nd FS A-10 land at SANG around 1130. I thought it was a bit odd to see one by its lonesome, did anyone happen to hear it on their scanner or have any idea why it stopped by?

Saw a Wyoming ANG C-130 on the transient ramp this morning- it was gone by lunch. An F-18 landed in the afternoon.
Also, it seems Selfridge picked up two extra -135s from the BRAC'd 939th ARW (Portland). The news reports said they were given to Tinker AFB but they've been at SANG ever since they left portland two weeks ago. One of the tail numbers is 58-0058 and has nose art.

On 324.600 I heard a couple times today was the distinctive Motorola machine gun trunking sound!
