Are all the tower site frequencies correct in RR's database for MPSCS? I saw some chatter yesterday regarding a lot of changes, and confusion regarding this.

Thanks!

Yes they are correct, confirmed via Pro96Com yesterday when the subsystem went live.

Excellent, thanks Mike!

Do you know if any updates are planned for the MPSCS site map?

http://radiowurx.com/mpscs/

Or is there something similar elsewhere?

Thanks again!

That map hasn't been updated in quite some time. I'm aware of another project in the works, but it's not ready for prime time yet...

The Blue ones are confirmed. This map is out of date however, as mentioned previously, but better than nothing.

is the whole system active? Meaning the towers? I have a hard time picking up the Mt. Clemens Tower near the Fire Training Inst. in Clinton Twp. but live about a mile away from one of the SCS tower of the subsystem.

The subsystem is completly up and running, but still hear some of the Macomb TG's on the Mt. Clemens and Romeo sites, while they are on 219 also.

Default Macomb 800...

I have been monitoring the Macomb Co Site 219 for an entire day now. I monitor the Richmond Tower as well. I am receiving both towers full-scale. Yet the audio breaks up MUCH more on 219 than Richmond. There is no drop in signal, just choppy audio at least 50% of the time. I've watched the P25 Decode error levels vary from 40 all the way up to 150. One of the few times it actually neared zero, I noted the threshold levels, and adjusted accordingly. This didn't seem to help much. I AM aware of the height & power differences, but again, BOTH towers are full-scale. Anyone else experiencing this ??

I should note that I'm using a 396T, I'm in New Baltimore area, and the problem occurs with the same talkgroups I'm hearing fine from the Richmond Twr. Also, it occurs while on base, 800 Mhz duck, and 800 gain mobile antennas.

Thanks...........

-Phil

I was also experiencing this throughout the whole day. Just like you said, never a drop in signal, just choppy audio much of the time.

This sounds very similar to all the problems they had/have with Detroit's simulcast system. Give them a couple weeks to tweak and tune. There has been a lot of technical problems, and some human error along with the new system coming on line.

Yesterday I was picking up the Sheriff's well on Mt. Clemens tower. Now I'm not getting the Mt. Clemens tower or the Macomb County system. Hopefully they do get it straight within the next couple weeks.

The Macomb Co. subsystem (site 219) is working cc 868.9875 alt 868.2625, site 210 is showing failed with a cc of 868.9.

Default Choppy audio

choppy audio like philkoz said. I am at 23 & Gratiot.
I think they are working on it right now. there are radio checks on TG 1333 and 1332

yesterday sounded much better.

What exactly do they 'tweek and tune'?

The choppy audio will remain a factor with the Uniden scanners, the Pro-xx96 models are MUCH better with CQPSK systems like Macomb & Detroit & Monroe & Genesee.

I think you are correct rdale. I would guess it is a scanner issue due to the format of the new simo sites. We have done much testing prior to the cut and experienced no lost audio issues. But then again ))

It's not the format - I think the scanners have to be much more specific when getting simo-digital vs the traditional simo-analog, where it's not noticable.

Well, it could be errror correction issues (or lack of) , or issues with the scanner within an overlap area. Although, at 23 & Gratiot, he is only a couple of miles away from the closest tower and overlap should not be an issue. Guess I'll have to do some scanner homework Good to see someone else from Lansing.
