Ionia Co. MPSCS-wrong TG?

i was listening to TG # 3100 which is supposedly Ionia Co. 911 dispatch, but I was hearing a fire department instead of Ionia County. With my ham radio mobile tuned to the fire frequencies, i didnt hear anything. This is also the same in having the radio tuned to Ionia Co. Sheriffs dispatch (155.310 Mhz).

anyone know anything about this?

I have heard Fire and Medical toned out on this talkgroup ... seems to be More Fire and Medical related .. as you mention Ionia Sheriff Dept is still on 155.310 MHZ. So maybe 34FD instead of 34COM.

COM would be common Maybe all of the county.

There is no FD talkgroup, the county fire is not going to MPSCS. What many counties do, like Clinton Co Sheriff, is retransmit their fire/EMS runs on the MPSCS PD talkgroup so officers know where rigs are responding.

In any case - what locations were they being sent to?

I didnt catch an address, but i heard "engine --" and it sounded more like a larger fire department.

Well, Ionia is still dispatching via VHF, with units responding the same. Ionia county is providing departments with 800mhz radios, but I believe it's for interoperability with Ionia City at this time.
I've got to look into this more this week, but I hear there's 1 or 2 ear marked for my dept.
