Thumbs up Washington Township fire now on "800"

Washington Township Fire in Macomb County is now on the MPSCS system.
Watch for T/G 2849....

You're not not monitoring the MPSCS?
How's the Macomb system? Still choppy here. We are only 3 or 4 miles from each other.

Yep, usually monitor MPSCS Tower 202 and Macomb 219 (amongst other stuff).

My BC796D's really choked on 219. Lot's of garbled transmissions. I picked up a couple of PRO-2096's recently and find they do much better, despite a little occasional paging intermod. I'm getting at least 95% of transmissions from 219 perfect on the 2096 units.

What works best for me is a little omni-directional 800 MHz cellular antenna I have up on my tower at about 30 feet, fed with RG-6 quad-shield coax. Additionally, I have an inline attenuator and have attenuation enabled on the 2096 too.

Go figure. I get Detroit 701 better on the 796D than I can Macomb 219.
