Ingham Co. EDACS Feed
I just finished setting up a server running a feed of the new Ingham County EDACS system. You can access it using the downloadable software from http://www.butel.nl/easy/eazystream_clientsetup.zip. I can only allow 19 users to connect at once. Please try this out and let me know if you have any problems or concerns.
Thanks,
Chris Ranes

Okay, after I got up this morning, I found out the server software had shut down at somepoint this morning. I just restarted it. Go to http://www.butelsoftware.com. Look for the link that says "download and install the free ARC-EazyStream client". Check to make sure you have the DNS entered correctly within the client software, scaningham.hopto.org. Also, make sure you have port 8100 entered for audio and port 8101 entered for the data. Oops, I forgot to enter the server DNS and port numbers in my original post. Sorry about that! It was late when I wrote it!
Thanks,
Chris

Followed your instructions and all I get is a green box in the STATUS area, then it turns red and then goes back and forth....no audio
Could anyone else hear anything?

Your DNS address of scaningham.hopto.org is pointing towards your local address of 192.168.0.100. You need to open the two ports of 8100 and 8101 on your router and point them to 192.168.0.100 then change the DNS to point to your outside IP address that you receive from your ISP. Most likely you will still be able to use that domain name inside your home network, although I have seen cases where it will not.

Try it again. I think I may have fixed the problem, but then again maybe not. I used the website http://www.no-ip.com to obtain a free DNS name. I've included a copy of the port-forwarding table on my router and then what I was advised to do in the help section of the website above. Please look at these two things and let me know if you think they are set up properly.
Thanks,
Chris

It appears to be working now according to another gentleman in Virginia. Please check it out now and let me know if you think the audio needs adjusting or if it's fine the way it is.
Thanks,
Chris

Great! I'm glad I am able to have this for you guys. Do you know if you can monitor this stream externally with Media Player or Real Player instead of having to load the ARC software? I'm mainly concerned about monitoring it from work where I can't load the xtra software.

I'm pretty sure there's no way around it, to use something 'normal' (RealAudio) you'd need to use my LFD link at firefeeds.com

I've taken it offline temporarily. Someone during the night decided it would be funny to connect to my computer and mess around. I'm in the process of making it more secure and will have it up and running shortly! Sorry for the inconvenience.

Alright...It should be up and working now. Give it another try! I'm going to try and fine tune the audio too.
