An orange helicopter may be the United States Coast Guard. I'm not sure where you are scanninng from, but I believe the CG uses multiple freqs on both conventional and digital systems. Since they are also a federal agency, they can use multiple law enforcement TG.

For the Port Huron Station, 156.800 is CG Channel 16 (the boater distress channel), 157.100 is CG channel 22 (information and they switch to this channel when getting info from boaters who are helping in emergency/non-emergency situations). According to RRDB on the MPSCS digital system:

Yes J thats correct. I hear USCG on the BP Tgs all the time up here when they are tracking illegals over Harsens Island, and out from Marine City in the middle of the night.

Roseville isn't far from SANG Air Station for the USCG. I heard a Heilo up here today but it was USBP and Canadian Customs doing fly overs on a mutual training exercise in the lake.

Coast Guard helicopters also operate on Marine Channel 23 to maintain contact with the boats in the water and the Detroit Sector dispatch.

Are there specific conventional frequencies I should have for Coast Guard? I'm in Holland and there's quite heavy water activity around here in the summer. I do have the MPSCS in one of my trunked banks, so I'll pick up those talk groups when they get used, but wondered about conventional frequencies.
