Default Unknown Ambulance Company?

I just stumbled across and ambulance company, which is operating on 454.650 MHz from the Detroit area. Can anyone shed some light on whom this company might be? Thank you!

Could be Superior Ambulance....their home base of operations is out of Chicago. They have set up shop in Roseville 696 service drive and Hayes/Grosebeck area. They handle all of the Henry Ford Health system.

Question

It may also be Star EMS. They have a mini station near Lafeyette and Trumbull downtown.

nope no mini station at layfayette & trumbull for star ems. Star EMS is based out of Pontiac with mini stations in highland, white lake, oxford, and some of the vehicles are in auburn hills ( as AHFD vehicles). That is not one of the frequencies Star EMS uses either. I am guessing it is Superior or someone else.

I see about 4-6 star EMS trucks parked behind a building in the area of trumbull and Lafeyette. It may also be closer to bagley. But i have seen them down there parked.
Not denying you, but i have seen them there.

Are you sure that is not American Ambulance that you are seeing? Americans HQ is in that area, also UMAS has thier CoPa JLA Casino Ops on Fort and Cass near the People Mover Station

Unless those are trucks being worked on, new trucks, or there is another star ems in that area, i dont believe star has any trucks down in that area except on transports

star ems out of pontiac is a white ambulance w/ a red stripe down the middle, no variations. That color scheme sounds like superior

That does not look like what start uses as far as lighting set-up and paint displays near the rear.

go to here and scroll down to see a photo of the star ems rigs:

American all the way. Star does not have any rigs as old as that one and the color of the building matches their (Americans) base. Star uses an LTR system (as referenced here), did you hear a swquak every 2 secs? They rarely go down there as well but with the empire gone, who knows?

Very strange that nobody has a listing for this freq, I looked through everything and nothing was found. Canada maybe? I also heard that Superior was on a passport system but no wireless companies in the area have that freq. Then again there is no listing for American either.

Time to break out the close call!

J

www.starems.com has some pix of their rigs.

Im sure it's not, but it could be a very old Medic One rig. Saw one in that scheme a long time ago.

Trumbull and Lafayette is definately American Ambulance, especially since the name of the company is on the Trumbull side of the building.
Could the ambo. co. be Concord EMS? Guess I'll punch the freq in and listen.

Question

On MPSCS TG 2588, it is listed in the Database as Huron Valley Ambulance. First of all, the calls being broadcasted are in the oak park area, not HVA's district. Also, Ive heard Allience Mobile Health on this TG. Im confused on who it may be. Any ideas?

They all have a stake in Alliance, they did not merge as MedStar has its own TG on the Macomb system and still operate with Medstar truck and employees.

Just a clarification

Happy Holiday's!
