Default Scanning Oakland/Macomb with Pro 97

Hey guys im a very amateur scanner enthusiast who drives in Oakland county all day (Troy/Rochester/Royal Oak) and I live close to Macomb county. I bought the GRE cable for my Pro 97 and have uploaded several banks of frequencies from RadioReference.com using Win97 but I still don't hear much and I was wondering if anyone has a Pro 97 and/or a Win97 frequency file they could send me so I could get some consistent chatter. Thanks in advance. Feel free to send me a PM or respond here.

Alot of Macomb County is now on MSPCS, with more to follow. Oakland County is still trying to get their opensky system up. Last time I checked the old Oakland Motorola system was working. As for Macomb County the Cities in Southern Macomb, other than Warren are still conventional. Macomb County is now on the Macomb Simulcast of MPSCS which is Project 25 Standard, which the PRO97 won't receive, and Oakland's opensky system can't be monitored by any scanner. If you want Macomb you'll need a digital scanner.

Oh thanks seamusg for the info. I'm not sure exactly what I'm picking up but it seems to be from units located in Macomb County. I didn't know the Oakland County system was unscanable at the moment.

You can monitor Utica, Sterling Heights, St. Clair Shores, Clinton Twp., Fraser, and the Gross Pointes can be monitored in Macomb but thats about all that is coventional. The rest as Seamusg said is P25

Most of Oakland County is still on VHF or UHF with a few depts capeable of going to the MPSCS for special events. The Oakland County Sheriff, Pontiac Police & Fire, Waterford Police, Wixom Police, Lake Angelus Police are I believe the only ones on the Oakland County Motorola System, and I beleive only 1 or 2 agencies are actually working on the OpenSky which is unmonitorable at the moment. Oakland County is currently projecting the opensky to be fully operational by the end of 2007 (but it keeps getting pushed back evry year). Most of Macomb county has started to switch over to MPSCS, but some are still working on VHF or UHF
