'Bout ready to give the hobby up! Live in Rockwood and the only time you hear any downriver traffic is when they" MUST" use the radio....I hate computers in the cars! Got me a $500.00 CB/Weather Radio.........

What frequencies were you monitoring? What County is Rockwood in? I checked Google, and I see references to both Wayne County, and Monroe County.

Let me try and shed a bit of light on this:

1) South Rockwood is in Monroe County and they are on the MONROE SIMULCAST(MPSCS)

2) Rockwood is on the Downriver TRS

So, I know that you say you are in rockwood, are you on the monroe county side or the wayne county side? As for the downriver system as far as I know they use it quite a bit. All Dispatch traffic has to go over a dispatch channel(voice) for recording purposes. All other traffic can be passed on the Mobile Data Computers.

Hope that helps

Rockwood is on the air all the time. Station 13. I hear them every night. I got over half of Dowriver locked out, because if I don't, I only hear half of every conversation. Don't be too suprised if you don't hear the departments south of Pennsylvania Road a lot. Not as much on-the-air traffic as north of Pennsylvania.

Can't say much about South Rockwood, don't listen to MSP system. Used to be that Rockwood was cars 3-1 thru 3-5 or so, and South Rockwood was cars 3-7 and 3-8, both dispatched by Rockwood on the old 155.640. So if South Rockwood is on Downriver at all, they would now be 13-7 and 13-8. I'll start paying attention to the car numbers more.

Even on the old frequencies you rarely heard South Rockwood. Two car village. They spend the day running radar on South Huron Drive, where the speed limit is 25 MPH, when it should be about 40. Then they both go home for the night, kinda like Mayberry. Only leave the house for a call.
