Default Lansing to the Soo frequencies worth listening to

Will be going to the Soo the end of June I know that there are talkgroups on MPSCS but would be interested in any frequencies worth listening to on the way up. I understand that the Soo is using MPSCS now and have their talkgroups but any frequencies for there would also be appreciated.

Thanks

Jim

You're prolly best off just listening to the MPSCS. There really isn't much to listen to along the 127/75 corridor. Once you get north of Mt. P and Clare, it's very very rural up the middle of the state. Just program the all the CCs near the highway along the route and stick to that. Most county sheriff's depts. still on analog have patches to the statewide system anyway, so you'll at least catch the basics of the counties you'll be passing through.

Or if you wanna go totaly nuts like I do, and you have a Pro-96 (or 396), program a V-Scanner (or groups) that follow all the counties and towns you'll be passing through or near. Then you'll be sure to catch a little bit of everything. If you like (and if you have a P96), I have a V-Scanner file I can send to you that covers 127 from Lansing up to the Grayling area...it wouldn't take much programming to fill in the rest of the way to the soo.

Thanks for the info. I don't think your offer of the file wil work since I am using a BC296d. I will however set up the scanner for CC on the MPSCS system.

Thanks again.

All LE in the Soo is on MPSCS. Fire is mixed between MPSCS and analog, but mostly on analog. Check the listing under Chippewa county.

You can access my list of 10 pages of freqs for the mid michigan area at -
This area's pd/fire is still mainly in the 154-155's area, but mpscs is used.
