any good listening around Mackinaw city, Cheboygan???

Well im going on a week camping trip in this area in July and wondered if it would be worth it to bring my new scanner (bcd996t) with me and play around to see what i pick up. it seems it would be pretty busy up there, marine freighter traffic, bridge authority, Mack. island..etc...., just wondered who moniters this area??

your lucky you're able to afford the gas for a trip up there.
Charlevoix, Emmet, Cheboygan counties are all within the VHF band. Check out these counties on the database and that will give you an idea on what to listen in on.

The CCE (Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet dispatch authority) is also in the process of migrating to the MPSCS. There is quite a bit of digital traffic up that way from these counties, so make sure you program some nearby statewide towers and check the MPSCS database for talk groups.

Thanks guys, the 996 should be in today according to the ups tracking site!! and as far as affording the gas goes, im hauling a trailer so i'll be getting around 9-10mpg which is being split between 4 people so it wont seem like were getting hit as hard. should be $4+ by then i cant wait.
