Default Tower Space / Rooftop needed for repeater - Detroit

I am looking for some tower space, or a rooftop to place 2 antennas and repeater equipment for a local volenteer neighborhood watch group that I work with in the city of Detroit. We do work with the city and the local PD and other local business security companies.

We are currently using CB's for comms, and the group has been for years, but they just dont cut it anymore. We need portables for when we leave our vehicles, and we cant take the CB crap anymore with static, poor range and other idiots.

We work near the I-94 and Cadiux exit or Mack Ave and Alter Rd. in N/E Detroit.
We need somewhere for a repeater near there. Im hoping to have something up and running soon, before Halowween and Devils/Angels night.

We dont need anything too tall or crazy, just a simple location for some antennas, and a outdoor mounted weatherproof equipment box. I figured I'd check here, before attempting to contact some local businesses, schools or the local PD (9th PCT) due to them probably not being willing to help us, and not knowing the right people to talk to. If you can help, please let me know, weather its you having space, knowing somewhere or maybe having a few connections. We cant afford to pay for traditional tower space, but we can maybe offer a little bit for power use or something.

First of all, make sure your equipment is clean, does not produce harmonics that would interfere with other equipment.

Second, do you have a license to be on the channels that the rptr's work on?

If you do work closely with DPD and the City, a little bit of politicking on your end may be in order. You've got a little over a month to prepare for the big night, so a simple phone call to the PD , and evaluation by the city comm's engineers. Be diplomatic, and you may just be able to find your equipment atop some precinct someplace.

Good Luck

EC-7:
I know this is a long shot, but there used to be a group called the Michigan Emergency Patrol that had a UHF repeater on top of the Fisher Building. They would run the freeways and radio in traffic reports that would end up on WJR. I had a couple of handhelds on their freq, in case my car broke down and all that. This goes back a good 15 years, but they gave me the freq and DPL for their repeater. To get the freq, I told them I was putting radios in church vans in case of emergency (sorry Lord, please forgive me ).

Anyways, maybe they are still around and/or that machine is still up there. If you explained what you wanted to do, they just may let you use their repeater. I know it had coverage in Romeo on a handheld. But I havn't heard about them since all the video cameras come out. I'm sorry, but I have no idea what the exact freq and PL was. I do remember it was a UHF GMRS freq, and that it was a DPL, not a TPL.
