Thomas Twp FD in Saginaw County will be hosting a pancake breakfast on 9/30/07 from 9-1 at their station 8215 Shields Dr.

Sagninaw County Central Dispatch will be hosting an open house on 10/11/07 from 4-6 at 618 Cass St in Saginaw

The Genesee County Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service will take place on 10/6/07 starting at 1030 at Flint Memorial Park

Pittsfield Twp in Washtenaw County will be having a fire department open house on 10/7/07 from 11-4 at the fire station at 6227 W Michigan Ave

Swartz Creek in Genesee County will be having their fire open house on 10/7/07 from 1-4 at both Stations 1 8100 Civic Dr and Station 2 1494 S Seymour. Also, they will be hosting the "Haunted Fire Hall" on 10/26/07 and 10/27/07 from 7pm-11pm, and a Christmas parade featuring fire trucks from acorss the area and other floats, bands, etc.. on 12/01/07 through downtown.

Utica in Macomb County will be having a fire department open house on 10/7/07 from 11-3 at their station 7609 Auburn Rd.

Roseville in Macomb County is having their fire department open house 09/30/07 from 1-5 at their station 18750 Common Rd

Hamtramck in Wayne County the fire department on October 19 at Regal Lanes (2633 Mound Rd. Warren, MI 48092), will be having an evening of “haunted” bowling fun. $25 gets you 3 games, door prizes, shoes, and more. Costumes are not required - but very welcomed (prize for best costume).

Public safety expo set for Saturday September 29th

WEST BRANCH – Ogemaw County emergency departments come together Saturday for an all-day public safety expo for area residents.

The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ogemaw Heights High School.

The expo targets children and adults with a fun, informative approach, planners say. Visitors, for example, can watch flight care helicopters and the “Jaws of Life” in action. The 51st Civil Support Team, from Fort Custer, will attend with local fire, EMS and police officers.

Rescue and law enforcement workers also are planning a K9 team demonstration and will offer DNA kits for kids. The event features give-away prizes, including 100 bike helmets, as well.

Chesterfield fire department opens doors to public

The Chesterfield Fire Department's station #3 is opening its doors to the public.

From noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 7, the station at 33991 23 Mile Road will welcome the public, offer tours, demonstrate extrication, and take kids through a fire fighting simulator and safety “smoke house.”

The township's police department and Miss Chesterfield and her court will also be on hand, and doughnuts and cider will be available.

MPSCS 800 MHZ RADIO TRAINING SCHEDULE 2008

MSP Communications section will be hosting the 800 MHz Train the Trainer (TTT)

course throughout the Michigan area. Classes are free of charge for any agency currently on the MPSCS system or any agency looking for training prior to a switch over from their current radio system.

Train the Trainer Course Description:

Train the Trainer is a four-day indepth detailed 800 MHz course that gives trainers the

tools needed to train a complex system to users. Personnel who complete the Train the Trainer course are provided with the necessary training aids to conduct MPSCS Operator Training classes including a PowerPoint presentation, quick reference guides, and operator training manual for Motorola, EF Johnson and Kenwood radios.

I sat through a course. Not a train the trainer, thank god. Anyone not able to grasp the concept of these radios in 2 hours tops (more like 20 mins) shouldnt be on one.

I have to go to the one in Jan in Livonia as soon as the boss sends info to Lansing and approves my money for food/gas/lodging becuase Im not driving that autoban everyday w.o. entertaining thoughts of bad things lol.

I've done the five day course. They found out it can be done in four days now. Two days to teach you how to teach and other two days to show you how the system and radios work.

Unique and award winning displays & collections, Patches, badges, collectibles, and historical items.

To be held at the UFCW Union Hall, 876 Horace Brown Dr in Madison Heights (13 Mile & I-75).

Admission: $4.00 for adults, kids 12 & under are free.

There will be door prizes, display awards, and a patch drop box drawing.

Lunch is available on-site.

At least 120 8-foot tables will be available at $20.00 each. Wall spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis. ALL TABLE RESERVATIONS MUST BE PRE-PAID. Table holders will be allowed (1) assistant who must be declared when making reservations. The building will open up at 7:00am for set-up.


IMPORTANT – This is a "closed" show. You must have police or fire ID, be a collector in the hobby, or be accompanied by one of the above to be admitted.
Current style badges may NOT be bought, sold, or traded at the show or on the property. Displays that contain current style badges MUST be marked "Display Only". Any reproduction items must be marked as such. Firearms may not be sold at the show. Failure to comply with any show rules may result in expulsion from the show and/or exclusion from future shows.
