Question What are ITC Channels Used For?

Every now and then I here ITC testing north south east and west on my 396 and pro96 what are they used for? TIA

Your guess is as good as anyones right now. Most people believe it to be "International Transmission Company" aka Michigan's power grid.

Go on their web site. I cant remember the address but if you google "International Transmission company" you will find out about what they do. Basically they own and manage the high power transmission electric lines in SE Michigan.

Here in Gaylord a company with the initials ITC has moved into a building which was empty. When this happened this spring they painted it and installed a very nice security fence around the property. The vehicles I see in the lot only during the day for the most part is pickups, service trucks equipped with the tool boxes and the larger bucket trucks. I will do some snooping arould to see what I can find out. I also hear those radio checks but I have not yet heard one from Gaylord.

I have been hearing them alot as well, most of the time one side is in the clear and the other side is encrypted..

Default on mpscs

you are hearing this on the state syatem? by the way ITC recently took over all consumer power transmission lines.So they pretty much have the whole state as far as transmission lines go.gregg
