Yippee, we'll blow 5 years worth of radio budgets on one radio... sounds like a PLAN!!
Dont expect the county to move too fast.. Eaton County is still only experimenting with the HT's.. everything being patched to UHF still, for well over a year now.

Is he honestly saying that 800MHz carries better than VHF and especially goes through cement better? Using what version of reality???

I _LOVE_ when people attribute radio coverage issues to training... I understand the need to train people, but if they press the button to transmit and it doesn't allow them because of low signal strenght that's not a training issue!

Sounds like a real good salesman to me.
My 300 foot 70 watt 800 mhz analog system has problems reaching areas 7 miles away from the tower; on a mobile unit yet. I can just imagine how the digital system will work.
