Default Grand Traverse Area MPSCS

Was here in August, and had Tower 432 up and receiving fine. Have returned for a few weeks, and I get nothing. Were there any changes or have I screwed up my programming somehow.

Using a BCD396T, and feel free to send a USD file if you have one, or Butel. Thanks!

The TC tower (432) has been acting up for some time. It is transmitting on the CC, but radios are unable to affiliate with it for some reason. It appears that all it's traffic (or what should be anyway) is being re-routed to surrounding towers, mostly South Boardman (431) and Rapid City (444). There is come occasional traffic, but it's rare.

Not sure what is going on with the tower or why it hasn't been fixed (it's been "down" for nearly 2 months). The tower is transmitting it's CC on 868.775, however Pro96com is showing the CC as 868.875, which happens to be what one of it's neighbors (Interlochen tower) is transmitting on. It's also not showing 868.775 in it's list of CC/Voice freqs. So my best guess is that the system is telling radios that it's CC is 868.875 when in fact it's 868.775, the radios either don't hear anything on that freq, or hear the wrong tower (if they're near Interlochen) and vote it off. Maybe someone more savy with P25 systems can enlighten me a little more on this, but thats whats going on in a nutshell.

I should note that it was fine until the Governors conference. The techs came up here a week or so before and added several frequencies, then during the conference the CC changed several times a day. Ever since then it hasn't worked right. Since there are so few MPSCS users around here though, I don't think anyone has noticed enough of a problem with their service to make a big deal about it. I wish I could get ahold of an MPSCS tech so they'd come up here and fix it. Anybody know one?

Default Tower

Have you tried deleting the Pro96com Tower file forcing the program to rebuild it? At times when frequencies change this helps since the file stores all the old frequencies and never deletes them. This is what i do when I notice too many frequencies on one tower. Usually some were changed and it stores ever one it has ever seen. Maybe this can help this issue? Are you using the latest version?

Just a few ideas.

Les

I am using the latest version, but I haven't tried dumping the tower file. I'll give that a shot and post back with results.

Someone must have heard me. I checked the tower again this morning before dumping the tower file and all is well. It's displaying the correct CC and radios are affiliating.

Thanks,

G
