Default newbie here

I have always been interested in scanner's, and I have a older hand held one but I want to get something newer. Sitting in frt of the computer is getting boring, and right now Im unable to work because of my injuries from falling 17 feet off of a roof last year. So I felt getting into listen to scanner's would a good hobby. Do you know of any one in the se mi area that has one that they would be willing to trade? I have some hunting stuff I can part with. I had a uniden 890XLT offered to me on a trade, but i cant read anything good about it. I also see that most departments are going to digital and trunking. I would love to go out and buy one but with this workmens comp fight equals no income and with christmas coming the kids are more important. So I guess if anyone has anything that they could part with please let me know

Im not sure what I can post on here so please contact me so I can tell you what I have

I have great feed back on many forums, i do alot of trading

Where at in SE MI? What are you looking to hear (what systems or depts). Depending on what you want to hear I might have something.

Well, it looks like from the database Macomb and specifically Clinton Twn. is still conventional. You can still hear a decent amount of traffic. As more and more system migrate to MSPCS, you will want a digital scanner such as the handheld Pro-96, BCD396T, and PSR-500. Of the three you can find the Pro-06 for under $300, especially if you look around these forums.

Unfortunately Clinton Twp is a black hole when it comes to the 800 system. The reason I say that is that they don't have the money to make the change over and all the departments surrounding them have all switched already to be fulltime users on the County system.

Deerslayer, check the database and get the control channels for Macomb County simulcast. I get Clinton Twp, Fraser, Sterling Heights, Macomb County Sheriffs, Shelby Twp and others. Hope this helps.
