Default Monroe County Update

As of today the Sheriff/main and LEIN are no longer patched via the uhf analog. They are on the digital only. There was a meeting on Tuesday to discuss somethings and one of the topics was keeping the fire main patched to the 800 system. The state does not want to allow that to continue after the installs are done. The firefighters in the county are going to try to fight for that and get a P.L. so the guys in their POV's can hear what is going on. The site trunking and no comms issues have been resolved. The southern deparments have got to be happy about that!!!

"The state does not want to allow that to continue after the installs are done."

Why? It's been done for years in other counties...

I have no idea what is wrong with doing that. If we put the P.L. on it will not tie it up as much and it will allow all of the responders access to listening to the main talkgroup via their pagers. I think there is a petition being started to go to the state with this. If you know of any agencies currently doing this on an M.P.S.C.S. system PLEASE let me know.

Thanks

Around here Clinton Co Sheriff has a complete simulcast link on MPSCS (tg 1191) with their ProVoice / EDACS system, and Eaton Co sheriff has a complete link on MPSCS (tg 1258) with their UHF sheriff frequency.

A search through the talkgroup listings for MPSCS also shows Leelanau, Saginaw, and Mason Counties (and MEPPS in the UP, tg 432) doing the same but I can't confirm those are still active (no reason to see why not.) There are also two patches to Oakland County's system listed.

Rob,

You know that he is talking about 154.430 right? There is entirely TOO MUCH traffic going on on that frequency. Not only Monroe County FD's but also Oakland County FD's! and understandably the state does not want all that skip traffic going on on the MPSCS system.

I hope that they can put a PL on it so that the Monroe County Volunteer FireFighters can still hear, and still be able to use their VHF moibles and portables

Eric

Correct. The FF's want a PL to be added and the simulcast continued, but MPSCS is saying no once installs are done.
