Default Pro-96 stocking?

Does anyone know What R.S. if any on the west side of the state stock the PRO-96, I am near G.R. and was hoping to check one out in person before purchase. However I cant seem to find a store where they are in stock. If you know of any within about an hour of Grand Rapids please et me know, as I likely will be purchasing it, I would just like to have the chance to see one and play with it a bit before i finalize my decision, its a lot of money to spind on something I have not seen.

Default I know our RS. stocks them, but we are over an hour from You

Yes, I live in Pokagon Michigan which is 8 miles north of Niles, Michigan. The local radio station had the RS store manager on a program back in November, at that time the RS manager stated that they stock the pro-96.

I need to go into Niles this morning, I'll make sure that they have them in stock, I know You don't want to drive that far, but I'll find out if they keep them in stock, just in case, You change your mind.

I would be real suprise, if all the RS stores in Berrien County didn't carry the pro-96. This is because the State Police, the Berrien County Sheriff Department, and at least 8 other police departments in Berrien County are now on the new system.

I don't have a pro-96 yet, I am waiting to see what the Niles City Police Department and the Nile Township Police Department does, before i buy a new radio. But the tempation to buy a pro96 is alful big!

Default Yes, they have the pro96 in stock!

I went into Niles, this morning, Yes, they do have the pro96 in stock!

I went into the store and asked the clerk if they keep the pro96 in stock? He said, we only stock RS scanners and who makes it, I might be able to get one for You. I said, Radio Shacks makes it and it the only sanner that RS makes that pick-up the Michigan State Police! He said oh, that one, Yes we have it and we sell alot of them.

He then took me over to it and showed it to me. Once He knew what I was talking about, He seemed to know alot about the pro96 and He said they do the programming on them before the scanner leaves the store.

I asked him, if he can be sure, if they had the scanner in stock, if You drove all the way from Grand Rapids. He said yes, unless we sell 7 pro 96 in one day and then he laughed. He went on to say, We always carry 6 in stock and one on the showroom floor, the one on the showroom floor is already programmed.

I know Niles is along way from GR, so You might want to find one closer to GR. Maybe someone who watches this post and lives in the north end of Berrien County can tell You if the RS stores in that area stocks the pro96. I know, You can get to St. Joseph- Benton Harbor Area alot faster than Niles, because it is express way, all the way!

Thanks, I appreciate the help. If things work, I may consider driving down there, perhaps I call down to benton harbor or st joe before I drive all that way. Was also considering trying k-zoo area. Which would be a bit closer.

You could stop by my house (South Haven area...about 45 miles away) and I'd give you a personal demonstration of the PRO-96 and the PRO-2096...a better demo then you would get from any Radio Shack employee. I'm driving 150 miles tomorrow to go get my PRO-2096...just got a call of from a store that has 11 in-stock.
