Default Hearing alots of chatter on 260.900

Got a BCT15 last Friday and I put some Mil-air into it on Monday. I have been hearing alot of chatter from aircraft calling "Huntress" on 260.9, including calling saying they were tailing a small craft that was not responding to any calls either radio or visual. I am hearing this all with the stock antenna and am in Central Ohio

I just put 143.85 in a few minutes ago. Its all quiet now on my end on all freqs. I am not new to public safety scanning, but am to air and Mil-air and hearing that was almost more exciting than hearing a pursuit on the PD band

Yes it can be pretty interesting for sure. You might want to check out Monix Military list here MONIX Military Monitoring. It has a lot of listing for the Buckeye MOA/ Blue Ash etc.

Nice catch - that's one of a host of NORAD freqs. Huntress is the callsign. Very commonly used freq here in the East, particularly when the Prez is at Camp David 73 Mike

What does MOA mean? I have read the term, I already had the MONIX site as a favs, and programed most of the Ohio stuff from their Mil site to my scanner.
