Default Darkstar, Dragnet, and "picture" - WI

Caught an exercise this afternoon with these callsigns and it sparked my curiosity.

Did some research and found:
965th AACS of the 552nd ACW - SHUCK ## DARKSTAR - Tinker AFB, Oklahoma;
966th AACS of the 552nd ACW - SHUCK ## DRAGNET - Tinker AFB, Oklahoma;
info from: Scanner Glossary

Also found this amazing website: Scanning the 301st Air Force Reserves Squadron
After reading the second paragraph, I think the exercise I heard was targeting - which was quite exciting.
Scroll a little down on the page and there are links to .wav files - the "knock if off" and AWACS are exactly what I was hearing - the picture part.

Can't quite describe everything in its glory, but some terms I wrote down that I kept hearing were - "bandit(s), hostile(s), leading edge, and bulls eye"

Heard everything on 319.025 AM, which, according the CARMA guide is WI ANG ch. 12 - air tac
Location today: capital of WI

Sounds like they are going at it again tomorrow afternoon and looking at the SUA website, I think that confirms it.

Any insight on this type of exercise or corrections are welcome; along with addition freqs. to tune into. Thanks

Excellent find. I lived in SW Wis for 30yrs. Scanned MilAir for 3. I picked up the practice MilAirspace in Central Wis from 40mi away. Everybody(MilAircraft) goes there. Also check out 139 AM range for more air-air tac's.

DigitalTux,

Thanks for the tip. I heard similar stuff in Milwaukee this morning on 319.025.

Also, "51 flight's off at 1508" on 321.000 which I heard at 10:12 a.m. local so the 1508 would be the UTC or Zulu time.

According to SUA, they've got the space until about dinner time today, so perhaps there will be more to come.

Not much else this afternoon in Milwaukee except a pilot making arrangements to land about 1500 local and wanting someone to pickup the chute from the runway. That was on 321.000.

Unfortunately nothing heard over here. I checked the SUA website yesterday afternoon, went to zoom in on the map and surprisingly couldn't find what I was looking for. By the time I went back to the list for WI the airspace and times had all but disappeared...
