I don't know the specs on those, but my opinion is that the biggest thing that helps is high scan speed. I don't know who's running the fastest these days, as I haven't kept up. I know for a while it was Uniden. But the reason why the scan speed is so important, is that mil stuff is hit or miss, and you need to be going through a ton of freqs to get a decent amount of hits. The slower it is, the more you'll potentially miss in between.

Yupiteru, Alinco DJ-X10. X2000. The X10 is one nice receiver! Used it almost exclusively after 9/11 for milcoms. Have a Pro-163 that does a more than adequate job. My 106 is just not as sensitive, but works. I have found that my Yaesu FT-60R works great. Had an Icom IC-2720 dual band mobile that was outstanding on milair.

The 396T works real well on milair; however I see someone selling a BC785. Here's a hint - one of the most active posters in the Maryland milair forum has 7 of them (hint)

What also works is if you are within the receiving range for milair frequencies(just only one for me so far lol and not that frequent)
