All new DoD LMR equipment must be P25

In a Department of Defense Directive and Instruction Sheet regarding Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Interoperability and Standardization, the DoD states all LMR equipment procured after July 28 will conform to Project 25 (P25) standards.

I saw this a few days ago in another forum. Glad this is being specified, however, it has been the de-facto case for a while anyway.

There have only been a few cases where I have personally seen people try to buy Icom iDAS or something else and attempt to use it for DoD use.
