A lot of people are viewing those posts because the subject titles aren't very descriptive and they have no idea what "????????" means.

And which one should we reply to? You start a new thread for every post.

If you want bomb squads, go through all the encrypted talkgroups, figure out which one it is and let us know. Bomb squads and SWAT teams are sensitive communications and probably not broadcast in the clear too often.

I don't think you really pissed anyone off, he was just trying to help you get better answers to your questions. Making a post with a title of "?????????" is not going to get you the results you want, simply because it will attract attention from people that don't know the answer and may not attract attention from people that do know the answer. Making the exact same post with a descriptive title such as "SWAT/Bomb Squads" would have been much more effective. Being a little more patient helps as well. I know we all want our questions answered right now, but the MN forum here isn't all that busy so you won't always get answers right away. The MN forum usually only sees a couple posts a day and sometimes goes for several days without any posts. Also, just because people read your post doesn't mean they know the answer to your question, especially since people from all over the country (and world) read these forums.

One other thing...when you are making a reply to a post, make sure you are clicking on the "reply" button rather than posting a new thread.

Everyone here is more than happy to help if they can, but doing a few simple things can make it much easier for everyone.

Default Give a little Too

Most of your posts have been asking for people to give you tg's and frequencies. You may want to try Sharing some of what you have found-tg's and frequencies- and you may find people more willing to provide the tg's and frequencies they have worked hard to identify.

So where is all the action on the Internet for Minnesota and the Cities? I have been on the outside looking in at ScanFan.com for months and have tried to register there with no success. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? -Bruce

The "action on the internet" is going to come from people who live in those areas. Odds are there are very few scanner enthusiasts in those areas that you see lacking. If no one is there no one can monitor it and report what they hear.

ScanFan is the only other MN scanning forum that I know of. There isn't a ton of action there either and most of the members there are also members here on RR. Admin at ScanFan disabled new user registration due to spam, but if you email Jerad the user name and password you would like to use he will get you registered.

I'd guess there isn't very much MN scanning related action on the internet because scanning isn't very popular here in MN, partially due to the cost of a digital scanner and partially due to the mobile scanner law. Believe it or not, many people actually think it's illegal to even own a scanner.

There is also the Twin Cities Incident Page. If you join, you can post info about incidents you hear on the scanner.

Also if you are looking for additional help programming or maybe for more frequency info or just just talk scanners you should come to the scanner meeting in roseville next Saturday night. See the post in this forum or the scan fan forum for more info. There those are always interesting.

Cant get used to this site. Will be getting win96 from starrsoft.com. Does it come with frequencies or do i have to get them from ARMER site? I f yes, are we still subtracting 15 from listed frequencies? Any other suggestions or warnings? I notice some of you talk about LTAC but dont use frequencies, are these listed somewhere?

The 96 does come with pre loaded systems but I believe they are prior to rebanding. When I had the 96 I never used the pre load i just used the control channels listed in the RR database and entered my own configuration. The frequencies listed in the RR database are the current rebanded ones- rebanded frequencies are in the 851-853.9875 versus 866-868.9875 prior to rebanding. LTAC refer to Law enforement Tactical talkgroup, these are listed in the RR database.http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=3508
