Will pro-160 and or 163 work with ARMER system?

I have a Radio shack pro-97 scanner, and since they switch to the new system. I have not touch it since then.. I want to get back into the hobby agian, so I've been searching and reading on radio reference. Seems like the pro-160 and 163 works with rebanding but the 163 will need a firmware upgrade. I call a couple radio shack stores to see if they have the 160, one of them do but the guy told me this model wont pick up any law enforcement around here. So whats the deal?
