Default Scanners in Duluth

Hi,

Does anyone know of retail locations that sell scanners in Duluth?

I'm taking a trip down south (...which should tell you that I'm from Canada!), and was looking to bring myself back a toy. I'm partial to Uniden products...Thanks!

Darrell

Just order one online. Youll get one cheaper and its shipped right to your house.

Darrell, I do not live in Duluth, but I was up there about a month and a half ago. There is a Radioshack in the Miller Hill Mall in Duluth. They had quite a few models when I was there. Also ,not sure which way you are coming down, but if you go through Grand Marais, there is a franchise RS in the hardware store there, not sure of the name. Maybe somebody that lives up that way will have a few more stores. Mike

Default Scanners in Duluth

Thanks to both of you...

Mail order is an option, but duty fees, courier agents, blah blah blah...too much trouble.

Besides, before I plunk down multiple hundreds of dollars on a rig, I like to hold it in my hand. I will check out RS in Duluth, but I was looking for a BC-996T to complement the rest of my receivers (BC200XLT, AR8000, BC235XLT, BC245XLT, BC296D, ICF2001D and IC-W2A).

Maybe a trip to the Twin Cities later in the fall...

Is there perhaps a Canadian site you could order from that would take care of some those problems?

Default The Land of Expensive Scanners!

Wogggieee,

How should I put this...?

Price of a 996T at a typical Canadian store ( Moblie/Base Scanners & Receivers : Radioworld )$750.00.

+ 13% for various Federal and Provincial sales tax = $847.50Cdn

x current exchange rate (92 cents on the dollar) = approx $780US

versus one price plucked offline (radiosale.biz) $550US
