Ok I seemed to have screwed up my pro 96 somehow. I downloaded some new towers and talkgroups into the scanner and now I am getting a lot of static. I have played with the squwelch a little to no avail. It also seems to be skipping past a lot of calls.
My set up is all tc metro towers in all folders and open channels. This way I don't miss any thing when the radios roam to a neighboring tower. AThen split by county and a folder of state and EMS in the nine banks.
Anyone got any ideas as to what happened or what to correct?
Well there is no static with digital. What you are likely hearing is the digital sound which would indicate that you're not getting a very good signal. Are you trying to listen to different towers than before? Perhaps you're getting towers that are further away.
Do you hear talking and then it gets all garbled and makes some weird noises or is it just white static.
I have had the same problem with my pro-96 and it was decoding issues.
The scanner still scans but will not stop on any talk groups but will if squelch is down on a conventional channel. It just keeps scanning by all the channels.

Make sure those are all keyed in correctly. Also do you have the radio programed for trunking? If not they wont work properly.
All key correct. Tried another download again from RR with those towers checked freq's and talk groups and checked to make sure in MOT mode still same problem.
