Default New feed

So I'm thinking of putting up a new feed for the Twin Cities area, specifically Hennepin County minus Mpls., Bloomington and Richfield.

I would include all of the PSAPs within the county besides those listed, as well as North Ambulance and State Patrol.

If my location allows, I would also possibly add in a few of the basic Carver TGs & Wright TGs (once on board)

I wanted to get any thoughts on this from those of you here. My thoughts are that we could try to get some of the other feeds currently up to be more specific as well.

We could have a Hennepin feed (the one I want to do) then then other currently running feeds could possibly do MPLS, Richfield & Bloomington, State of MN, etc... and the other could just do St. Paul & Ramsey Co. , State of MN, etc.

Not trying to tell anyone what to do, just that it might be easier to pay attention to traffic when the feed isn't trying to get traffic from 75 tg's.

What does everyone think about this idea?

Hi, I have 6 scanners, mostly programmed the same, two have heavey St. Paul, and I locked out Bloomington, Richfield, Edina, St. Louis Park, What I have running on 4 scanners, Minneapolis Police, thats is were the action is. It is none stop hang on to the seat of your shorts. I also love to listen to the North Suburban West-East talk groups,,example, Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, action all the time out of those two alone, Crystal, Plymouth, Osseo Maple Grove, and of I stay on all scanners North, and one has Hennipen County Medical Center, I also get big time Minneapolis Fire, everything they have, right into the fire. I have every county surrounding the Minneapolis St. Paul area, but because I live in Maple Grove, I listen to whats going on around me. I also have State Patrol and I pick up all the Tac action All of it. I get Anoka County All, I will sometimes shut Anoka out on all but one scanner, and listen to just Minnepolis, and EAST WEST suburbs, plenty of none stop action. Like last summer, when in seconds, the call came out Hennepen East, 5100 cars, SHOTS FIRED! ' BLONDIES',, and the first officer on the scene, in the radio I heard, shots are being fired, there must of been 100 squads from evey were, it was fast, Bam shots fired, In Minneapolis, you get this everyday, morning noon nite. it never stops. And I also get North Air Care, in the Air, and on the Ground, I hear it all. If the Public heard this stuff, they would'nt go out there front door. Well, at least I responded to you, the Minnesota, forum is slow at times, me, I have been at this hobby for over 20 years. My ears and brain are trained to listen to whats go'n on, who what were and NOW. GOD BLESS take CARE, MINNESOTA VIKINGS.

Ummm... Hard to interpret that, but thanks for the 1 reply alien55.

133 looks and 1 reply, which was not specifically geared towards the question?

Maybe another feed just isn't needed?

Thanks for the input turtle. I don't live that far south, so I couldn't do it either.

(Well, maybe I could. But honestly don't have much interest in doing so.)

Stevie,

Are you hearing any Dakota Co. traffic?

What antenna are you using?

We are planning on a get together soon. Keep an eye out to the Minnesota sub-forum for a date & time. You could get some good help if you go.

I actually always did my programming by hand vs. using a program.

Manually entering freqs & TGs always seemed to take me less time than actually typing them out, unless I was programming 4 systems at once.

Yesterday, before I set up my feed, I downloaded Freescan ( ScanNow.org - The Home of FreeSCAN! ) I used it to make sure my programming was accurate for the feed.

I think for free it is a wonderful program, and would recommend it.

Nice team work mplsradio.

You shoot me a message if you need help too. I've been scanning for a long time. It's fun to provide feeds for these folks.

Hope you can make it to the next get together.
