Default St. Louis County ARMER

During their pager test tonight St. Louis County broadcast that users that have had ARMER training are to start using ARMER beginning soon. I wasn't right next to the radio at the time so I can't be entirely sure of all the information, but I believe it was next Wednesday, the 21st.

They also gave the talkgroup name which I did not catch in it's entirety for use as the main talkgroup. Any users which have not had the training yet are to continue using the VHF system.

I was in Duluth earlier this week and did catch a couple Fire units already using ARMER.

Ok, that makes sense. I believe I heard it off of the Shaw tower, that would be what was Midway's area wouldn't it?

If I remember right Gold Cross should also be switching about now.

Gold cross typically says one thing but what they mean is the last possible opportunity. My guess is 2200 31 Dec. Might be the cynic in me...

A: No. Drive your hybrid down to the store and get a real computer.

Last I heard from Gold Cross people was Dec 13...And of course they won't transition a little at a time, it is apparently all or nothing.

Appears Duluth Fire 251 has mobile ARMER capabilities, but was still on VHF for fireground.

The rest of the trucks appeared to still be on VHF.
