Automated dispatching is starting to become "the thing" in many larger communities. The sales pitch is that it reduces dispatcher workload and results in faster turnout time for apparatus.

As you might expect, some places who have implemented this technology swear by it and others swear at it.

Definitely will take some "ear adaptation" and for those areas with unusual street name pronunciation might be very interesting.

Nice find. Had a feeling that automated dispatching would soon come to Minnesota. It's spreading across the nation. Does not sound too bad, but wait until some of the harder streets names like in St.Paul get misunderstood. If this technology does not lead to job cuts, then its a good thing for a busy PSAP to give the live breathing Dispatchers some help when needed.
