Default Lee county--Tupelo--rebanding June 1st?

Below are parts of an article from the Tupelo, Ms. "Daily journal", dated 4/5/09, page 10. This is suppossed to happen June 1st.

"Because FCC has reallocated some of the 800 frequency for Sprint Nextel, all radios in the county will have to go to a higher frequency. The frequency will be from 859 and above"

"Even though the switch won't be cheap, Sprint Nextel will foot the bill. Some radio's are being replaced and others.simply are having the band switched over".

"Lee county sheriff Jim Johnson, said all of his radios have been swiched over or replaced".

"After we re-band the radios all the ones on the old frequency will be useless".

Boy they flipped it didn't they? 859 and above??? Wrong, its the opposite, they must come under 860 MHz. LOL I guess the addage about never believe everything you read inthe paper is true. But yes rebanding should happen this summer. Even though Lee Co only has one freq above the limit.... Kinda strange that if the SO has "rebanded" thier units, that they don't even have an FCC lic for any rebanded freqs yet....

I agree with your assessment, of the "Lee County" and "Tupelo Ms" system. As you stated, "Kinda strange".
