Exclamation Noxubee County, MS

Noxubee County Mississippi has neither an enhanced nor an 800 system in place and will not have it in place for many years to come. Unfortunate for us responders.

Default Noxubee Co, MS

Well I have been working fire, rescue and an emr for the last 12 years in Noxubee Co and the fire chief of Northwest Fire Dept for the last 5 years and have never found any trunking system in the county at all. We have been discussing it for the last 3 years and are going to start putting it in place but very slowly.

The last EMA director spent a lot of money and told everyone that it was an enhanced 911 system when it was a bunch of outdated that he over spent on. It has never been a E911 system and won't be for a few years. The county has it's own dispatchers and has not let AT&T take over and charge the county for it's 911 services.

This being the problem. AT&T will not turn over the data bace needed to upgrade to an E911 system. The county does not have the data or equipment in place to locate an address from where a person is calling from. All of the freq's in the county are from the 154.000 to the 159.000 range. Trunking systems and E911 systems opperate from the 800 and 900 ranges.

The Sheriff's Office has been on the EDACS system for a long time. I updated the DB for all the conventional freqs for the county, will add Noxubee County Hospital in a bit. Anyone that can verify usage and tones for Macon, and the rest please do so. We have not had any updates from this area in a long time.
