Default Radio numbers

Anyone know if I can get a list of radio numbers for the Independence officers. I think it would be interesting to know who is talking instead of just hearing a number.

I don't know if it's public information or not. I am just curious.

Anyone?

Hum their are like KMOPD it gose by zone a officer may not have the same radio number ever night

North Zone 100's
South Zone 200's

The next set of numbers are set to the officer only North and South Zones officer may get different numbers. They are ste to the patrol aera.

SRT 300's
Traffic 400's even radio numbers
DUI 400's odd radio number
500's maybe Det
600's Special Patrol or community policeing (They use the sub station at the mall)
700's N/A
800"s n/a
900's Off Duity officers

All 10's ie 110 0r 310 are Sergants 100 os 200 are Captians

Hope that helps

Do you want to know how to program the 396 or do you need frequency info. For frequency info go to RR, click on Missouri, then on Kansas City, then on Jackson County and you'll see all the "Featured Trunk Systems". Their is one listed for Independence. Load the control channels according the the 396t manual.
If you want to enter the Kansas City system do the same. Under Jackson Co. you will see control channels for KC area. BTW my son lives in Blue Springs and you can add me as one of your friends on RR. If you don't mind I'd prefer we corresponded by e-mail. (davidnordm@gmail.com).
Did you know you can export freqs from RR to your scanner directly from a program called Freescan and I used it and it download everything I requested from the St. Louis area. I should have told you this first. But you can do either. You will need a cable from your computer to the 396 to export freqs. I'm leaving soon. May not reply for awhile. Good luck. Also the Systems are APCO 25 digital which your scanner can handle. Dave Nordmann. St Louis.

The officers have the same radio numbers every day. Unless they are working off duty somewhere, then they are assigned a number for that off duty work.

Also, I have my 396T programmed already and have used freescan. I am interested in knowing each officers name and radio number.
This is available for other departments I'm just not sure how to find it for IPD.

By radio numbers do you mean Talk Group ID's? That info should have been exported to your scanner via Freescan. I haven't used Freescan to export our St Louis PD APCO 25 system since I entered it manually and it works OK. I'm not sure it give you Talk Group ID's . In which case you'll have to find a list of ID's and enter them manually so you know what aear you are listening to. I don't believe you will be able to get the officers names
unless you know someone at the IPD. Just out of curiosity, why do you want their names. Hope this helps. Those talk group ID's you see are not actual officers but a site on the IPD. Such as Dist3 or Area 7,not knowing what is showing up on your display. You can edit the display
by looking at the manual. What exactly do you see on the display then you hear a transmission from the IPD?

I didn't realize my question was so confusing. I am not talking about talk group ID's and my radio is programmed. This is not a scanner question. I am asking if I can know which officer is speaking when I hear their radio number.
For example, officer 214 calls dispatch, dispatch responds by saying 214. 214 is his radio number. BUT WHO IS OFFICER 214?
In a neighboring city all this information is on their website. I am interested in knowing this info for the Independece Police Department.

Default Ipd

The radio numbers reflect the geoplan that divides the city into districts. the first digit indictates the shift (1st, 2nd or 3rd) and the last 2 digits relate to the district. Unit the 1, 2 and 311 for example ride 11's district which is N of 23rd st, in the far west end of town. As you move across town, the district number rises by one. 321 rides the same western districts south of 32rd (the second digit of 2 identifies it as a south zone car.) So 111 is a northwest car, while 116 is a northeast car. 121 is a southwest car, 126 is southeast. It is common for officers to ride different districts- so you cannot reliably say which radio belongs to what officer. You'd have to listen to them start their shift and report their badge number to identify them. I dont think that they'd appreciate that discussion here- understandibly so.

All that is true but the shifts IPD uses the numbers for all shifts. Now the 300 hunders are set to a officer. They are S.R.T Officer. those numbers never change unless they quit S.R.T. But yes you are very right its the same set up that all KCPD radio officers use. A little town and county have set numbers for all officer. a city would run out of numbers. Independence could but don't. Now Blue Springs dose I belive not for sure. also IPD don't state their badge number just the equp they have. KCPD dose the badge number. I may be wrong about IPD but don't think so
