Default new guy here..

2 questions...

I used to be able to get the Skywarn radios talking to the weather service here in St. Charles County. i am no longer able to even though I have plugged in the listed frequencies. I have a pro-97...did they go digital and I cant hear them?

Also, when I here a dispatcher send the call to EMS or Fire and they say "respond on channel 2", how can hear channel 2?

thanks!

If your listening to the 146.670 for SKYWARN, the repeater has been down for a while. O'Fallon kicked them off the water tower in late April for repainting and I dont believe its been set back up yet. The club had to remove all equipment off the site as well as all the other occupants.

In regards to the Ch2 request, the only thing I would suggest is to program in all the freqs for the County 911, Ambulance District and the County Fire Protection District. You are bound to catch the traffic. I had most of these in at one time, but as much as they get dispatched out, I was missing other traffic from around the area so I locked them out.

Channel 2 is 155.9400

You definetely need to program all the channels for the st charles county 911 system though. As more calls come in they have units either respond on other channels or switch to different channels.

It would definetely suck to be hearing a major incident and have all units move to a channel you don't have programmed.

Thanks! I appreciate the info...next dumb question.

How can I get the frequencies into my software (scancat) without having to input one at a time?

When I did all of my programming I bought the premium subscription from Radio Reference. I also used Butel ARC software. That allowed me to select the different systems I wanted and it would import the frequencies and alpha tags. This method still required some minor editing of alpha tags to fit the display on my scanners.

Either way it saved a bunch of time. I'm guessing that scancat is probably similar to the ARC software(which you can download demo's for free) and all you need to do is pay for the premium subscription.

Hope that helps!

There may even be someone on the board who can e-mail you their file for the pro97.
