Default KC and a 346XT

Wondering if anyone could help. I have a 346XT, and will be in the KC area in the next couple of weeks. Just curious if anyone could tell me if the pre-programmed freq. for KC are correct. I know there is some digital in the area, just trying to only bring one scanner. I have looked through the database and it seems to have some of the freq. Just hoping for a little local input.

If anyone in this forum thinks it would be worth, I would bring a Pro-96 also for digital. Hopefully a lot of Kansas City, KS. memebers read this forum also. Just didnt want to duplicate post. Thanks for any suggestions, Mike

Smile It will work nicely.......

The K.C. city proper is on an Edacs trunk and the current info in the database is correct. You shouldn't have any problems there. There are pockets of digital scattered throughout the area, especially on the Kansas side. The Pro 96 will handle those. Check the database for the Kansas side stuff, the Highway patrol, Highway department, KBI, are all on one statewide P25 digital trunk. Many area towns surrounding K.C are digital as well now. Hope this helps! Have a good trip!

rabidmoose57, thanks for the help! Thats the kind of info I was looking for. Looks like I will take both scanners, my wife will be thrilled! I actually lived in Raytown up until I was about 10, i'm in my 40s now. Havent been to KC for about 10 years though. I still consider it my hometown. Thanks again for the help, Mike

If it's not too late, I could send you some files that would save you some input. Contact me at scan-kc@kc.rr.com if you want. If this message is too late, hope you enjoy your stay in KC
