Thanks!

I "downgraded" to a quarter-wave 800 MHz whip, and reception seems to be greatly improved. I'll just switch to a longer antenna when I wander out of the Metro.

P.S. Which TV station did/do you work at?

In addition to freescan, the ARC XT software from Butel is another great program once you learn how it works. BTW, I'm finding out first-hand just how complicated the 396 is to figure out, but I did manage to get KC programed and it sounds great compared to the RS-197. Audio clarity is great and no simulcast distortion whatsoever (knock on wood!).

I just got my PRO-106 -- now what? I did not get the cable (did not think about it) while I was there. Is there anyone who can program (at least just KCMO trunked system). On all of my other scanners I have programed by hand -- I have a feeling this one may not be such a good idea.

If anyone would like to help, I am on the K0GQ repeater most of the time.
Thanks.

The Raytown, K0GQ is the 145.1700 in Raytown, Missouri.

I agree, on my other scanners (I have 2 Bearcat 245XLT), and all my other scanners I have always programmed by hand, because I like to put them in the order I like. I also had the tendency to program all my scanners the same, so I could remember the channels easier.

From what I have seen of this one -- I am already confused (then again I never did really program my Pro 2051 either).

If you want to email me you can find it of QRZ (do not really want to post it here).

In reality it's probably one of the easiest once you get the concept. For MARRS you only need to create a new TRUNK SYS and then enter the control channel frequency. If I recall correctly it will automatically create a wildcard talkgroup which will allow you to monitor everything on the system.

I think I have the new system programed in -- I just cannot figure out how to "go back" and enter the ID's, or how to set everything else up. But it is working -- I think --

I was looking at my pro96com logs for KCMO P25, and found this talk group
TG 13192 Radio id 8365346, with 3 key ups.

The only radio numbers up that high I have found so far are federal guys. Either way that talk group is odd, none of the other systems around here have that talk group, so I don't know where he was roaming from.

I have been running the quarter-wave antenna for about a week, and it seems to be working fairly well. There are still occasional breakups and distortions.

I have the multi-site mode set to "Roam" with the low threshold at 55 and high at 85. Has anyone else played with these settings?

They were patching A-1 dispatch on EDACS as of a couple nights ago. TG's 1901, 1902, and 1903 have been carrying the patch traffic. Channels A-2 and above are exclusively using digital.

Any word on when everyone else is officially switching over such as Pleasant Valley, if they do, Southern Platte FPD, MARCER Med Channels, etc.? Somewhere I thought I heard Raytown and/or Grandview will be transitioning over as well. I know Blue Springs is getting on the Independence system... Anyone know of any other areas around the metro that will join on??

Does anyone know who these talkgroups belong to?

33113 (mixed clear/enc)
33116 (mixed clear/enc)
33124 (clear)
33130 (all enc)
33200 (mixed clear/enc).

None of those are listed in the database...

33124 Channel #1 I believe is Police HQ maintenance.
33125 Channel #2 sounds to be Police Downtown PD buildings Janitorial/Grounds. I've heard them down at HQ, the Credit Union and some other spots just outside the Taco bell menu.
